1Requirements
For a Nikāh to be valid according to the Shari'ah, the following conditions must be met and present during the ceremony:
- Wali (Guardian): The presence and consent of the bride's Muslim guardian (father, brother, etc.).
- Mutual Consent: Explicit consent from both the bride and the groom.
- Mahr (Dowry): A specified gift from the groom to the bride.
- Witnesses: At least two upright Muslim male witnesses.
2Procedure
To schedule your Nikāh at Masjid Al-Waheed, please follow these steps:
- Contact the Imam: Reach out to Imam Abu Rifqoh at least 2-4 weeks prior to your intended date.
- Pre-marital Meeting: The Imam will meet with the couple and the Wali to ensure all Islamic requirements are understood and met.
- Schedule Confirmation: Once approved, the date and time will be officially scheduled in the Masjid's calendar.
- The Ceremony: The Nikāh ceremony will be conducted by the Imam, including a short Khutbah (sermon) on the responsibilities of marriage.
